My name is Julie Parker and I am based in Cumbria on the outskirts of the Lake District and have been designing and making jewellery since 2008. In comparison to woodcarving, which I had done in the past, the short period of time it takes to go from design to finished piece is very satisfying. I take inspiration from the Cumbrian landscape, flora & fauna, as with carving, I also take inspiration from the colours & textures of the materials I use.
My background is a little unconventional with nearly twenty years in scientific research followed by working in the retail environment of a busy garden centre in the Lakes. I have now retired giving me more time for everything!
In my spare time my husband and I have renovated our 18th Century farmhouse, converted our barn into a self catering holiday cottage between the Lakes & the Dales & have now finished converting our last barn into an inspirational open living space.
